Executive Summary

 

This report provides an update on the work of the Brighton & Hove Towards Zero HIV Taskforce. The taskforce is the local delivery vehicle for the international Fast Track Cities initiative.  The Taskforce supports the City to achieve the Fast Track City goals of zero HIV stigma, zero new HIV infections, and zero deaths from HIV.

2.      Relevant information

 

 

2.1       The Fast-Track Cities Initiative is a global partnership between the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC).  Website: www.iapac.org/fast-track-cities/

 

 

2.2       In August 2017, Brighton & Hove became the first UK City to sign the Paris Declaration on ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat in cities by 2030.  There are now over 100 cities from around 65 countries around the world which are part of the Fast Track Cities initiative. 

 

 

2.3      More details of the work of the taskforce are included as Appendix 1 to this report.
